News and CircularsNews e CircolariItalian Agri-food export is record breaking!

19 June 20230

Italy has always had a reputation for excellence in the agri-food sector, and in the last two years this excellence has become even more evident. We are pleased to share with you the positive trend of Italian agrifood exports, with a special reference to Piacenza-based companies.

POST COVID RECOVERY: LAST THREE YEARS WERE RECORD-BREAKING

Italian agri-food exports have been growing steadily over the last two years, and according to the most recent data, exports of Piacenza-based agri-food products have reached the record figure of 530 million euro (up steadily from 450 million in 2020), making a significant contribution to the country’s economy. This impressive figure underlines the importance and value of Italian agri-food products on the international market.

Europe is confirmed as the most interesting market for Italian companies (especially France and the BENELUX countries), but even more ‘distant’ countries have recorded double-digit growth rates (Japan +46%, Australia + 61%)

THE ITALIAN “RECIPE” FOR SUCCESS

First of all, Italy boasts a great diversity of high-quality agri-food products, ranging from world-famous cheeses such as GRANA PADANO or PARMIGIANO REGGIANO to regional gastronomic delicacies. This wide range of products has made Italy a true paradise for gourmets all over the world, increasing the demand for Italian products abroad.

Moreover, Made in Italy is synonymous with authenticity and tradition, values that are increasingly appreciated by international consumers. Italian agri-food companies have proved capable of communicating the values of their land and culture through their products, succeeding in capturing the attention and trust of global consumers.

PIACENZA AND THE ROLE OF CONSORTIA

In particular, Piacenza companies have played a significant role in this boom. The province of Piacenza is famous for its food and wine tradition, starting with the famous 3 PDO SALUMI (Coppa, Salame and Pancetta piacentina), the fine wines of the Colli piacentini, cheeses and industrial tomatoes. Piacenza companies have been able to make the most of local resources while maintaining high standards of production and quality.

Thanks to a combination of investments in technological innovation, international collaborations and the promotion of typical local products, Piacenza companies have managed to conquer new markets and increase exports.

Their commitment to promoting local excellence has contributed significantly to the overall increase in Italian agri-food exports. Consorzio Piacenza Alimentare, alongside companies since 1980, helps create synergies and coordinate international promotion through trade fairs and events all over the world.

We continue to support and promote our agri-food companies, because their success contributes not only to our country’s economy, but allows us to bring Italian excellence to the table all over the world. 🥂🍝
