Consortium Piacenza Alimentare, with the financial support of Region Emilia Romagna and the Chamber of Commerce of Piacenza, took part in Summer Fancy Food (Washington) with two member companies.
Sante Ludovico (Vice President of Consortium Piacenza Alimentare and CEO of La Pizza+1) said he was very satisfied with the results of the exhibition thanks also to the collaboration with Consortium Casalasco del Pomodoro, another member company who's been for several year on the US market.
"Fancy Food is a very important event and with over 500 exhibiting companies the Italian pavilion was one of the biggest national collectives. For our company it was the first time on the US market, which is very competitive but can still offer interesting opportunities for a small company like ours, and not only for the biggest realities. Organig and Kosher are two of the fastest-growing sectors: kosher products can count on at least 15 million consumers of Jewish origin, but not only. Its potential is huge. Since it requires the same top quality standard that we pursue as a company, we think that this might be a good market for our products. Unlike other international food fairs, we didn't collect many contacts (about 15 from USA, Canada, Japan and Australia) but all of them are very important with good potential."
