History
The hills of Val Tidone on the Piacenza Apennines have been dedicated to viticulture for over 2500 years: the ancient Romans already loved the wines produced in this beautiful corner of Italy. In these lands, of ancient and noble winemaking tradition, the Cantina Valtidone has been producing great wines since 1966. The grapes come from about 1,100 hectares of vineyards owned by the more than 200 member-winemakers. The cooperative takes care of the bunch of grapes from the vineyard to the table to ensure the preservation of the organoleptic qualities of the product.
To make the most of the characteristics of the Piacentini Hills and respond to the needs of the consumer, Cantina Valtidone has over the years expanded its range of wines, emphasizing its love and respect for the territory through the production of organic wines.
Production
The winery does not focus on quantity but on quality, in the awareness that the challenge on the markets can only be won if you make a good wine.
Quality is pursued not only for fine wines, but also for those destined for wider consumption. The production of Cantina Valtidone includes almost the entire range of the famous Piacenza wines and ranges from the classic Gutturnio, to Barbera, Bonarda, Malvasia, Chardonnay, Pinot Nero and Ortrugo.
The 50 HARVEST project was born in the vineyard. We have combined the half-century goal of Cantina Valtidone with our land. From 50-year-old vineyards we have selected the grapes to produce these wines which are the fruit of our winemaking history that began in 1966 and has continued to this day. Our journey through the years has always kept the same direction: the production sincerity from the vineyard to the generous fruit of our work enclosed in the bottle.
50 HARVEST is the thanks of nature for having respected it over these long years.
