Vine-growers out of love and passion, stubbornly committed to the research of quality, La Ciocca is a young and dynamic agricultural estate, nested among the green and sweet Colli Piacentini, between Piedmont and Tuscany. The heritage of the valleys goes back in time, as shown by the thousand years-old fossils that are unearthed, every now and then, on these slopes.
La Ciocca was established in 2007, when the Campana family, on the strength of a decades-long tradition of winemaking, launched with enthusiasm this new project aimed at pairing technological innovations with the heritage of our land and with the wise traditions of its farmers.
La Ciocca produce their own grapes using low yield vine: this is the secret of high quality wines. The mission is to stand out from the other wineries of the region for the taste and freshness of products, as well as for the balance of the essential components of the grape and the wine.
Results, as shown by the growing appreciation of the public both in Italy and abroad, are quite immediate, making La Ciocca a solid reality in Colli Piacentini wine region.
Production
La Ciocca houses centenarian wines, synonym for high quality, on the stunning background of Chiavenna Valley, an hidden gem of Colli Piacentini hills region. Here, they grow the typical varieties of the region, Ortrugo, Bonarda, Barbera, Malvasia Aromatica di Candia, together with Chardonnay, Cabernet and Merlot grapes.
La Ciocca combines the centuries-old wine tradition of the land with the support of new technologies: they use state-of-the-art materials and equipment in order to offer a genuine product able to conserve the unique flavour of the grapes from the vine to the bottle.
Wood and stainless steel are precious allies to match the wise knowledge of the farmers with a non-stop innovation, with a special eye on the consumer health.
To prove their total interest in engaging in sustainable agriculture, they have joined with enthusiasm the ViniSOST project, powered by Horta srl and Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Piacenza: modern equipment help the farmer in the correct application of treatment products, thus reducing the impact on the environment and on customer health.
