The 2009 edition of PLMA, the most important international exhibition for the private label sector, closed its doors on May 27th.
PLMA 2009 recorded over 1600 exhibitors from over 65 countries and attracted buyers from the world's supermarkets, hypermarkets, discounters, department stores, drugstores, wholesalers, importers and exporters.
A group of ten Piacenza companies also exhibited thanks to the financial and technical support of Consortium Piacenza Alimentare: A.R.P. (tomato preserves), Salumificio Pianellese (cured meats), La Pizza + 1 (fresh pizza and focaccia), Rebecchi F.lli Valtrebbia (cake decorating items), Polenghi Group (lemon juice and dressings), Berni Alimentare (vegetable preserves), CO.PAD.OR. (tomato preserves), Consorzio Casalasco del Pomodoro (tomato preserves), Columbus (tomato preserves), CG Salumi (sliced cured meats and cheese).
The exhibition consisted of two macro-areas (food e non food) and offered special highlights on the development of new ideas. Innovative products from all over the world were displayed in a specific section called "PLMA's Supermarket of Ideas" gathering hundreds of products from the most important Euopean and American distributors.
The product of some Piacenza companies were included in the New Products section, proposing new products and packaging solutions: "PizzaCroc", the microwavable pizza by La Pizza + 1 and the new Dosette (single serving packaging) of balsamic vinegar cream created by Polenghi Group.
