Four wineries from the Province of Piacenza (Cantine 4 Valli, Il Poggiarello, Az. Agr. Molinelli and Cantina di Vicobarone) took part in the Italian Wine Tasting events organised by the Italian Trade Commission in Poland and Lithuania. The presence of our wineries was coordinated by Consortium Piacenza Alimentare.
The aim of the initiative was to support and consolidate wine export from Italy to central and eastern Europe, and to promote the image abroad of Italian products in general.
Thanks to this support of Consortium Piacenza ALimentare, Piacenza wine makers could exploit the opportunity to present our CDO wines to local importers and distributors.
Poland and Lithuania are strategic markets which are growing at fast pace and may offer interesting opportunities, especially now that these countries joined the EU.
The event was organised by the Italian Trade Commission in Rome, in collaboration with the Warsaw and Vilnius branches, and the following professional categories were invited: importers, buyers, restaurant managers, sommeliers, journalists and opinion leaders.
A special brochure was printed, containing a list of all the Italian wineries which took part in the initiative. The venue of the B2B meetings was the Marriot hotel (in Warsaw) and the Meridien hotel (in Vilnius). The obtained results are satisfactory: local operators appreciated our red wines – Gutturnio and Bonarda in particular – and, among white wines, Malvasia and Ortrugo also received positive judgements.
