Salumificio San Carlo has been present for over 30 years as a producer of cured meats in Ziano in the province of Piacenza, in Emilia, an Italian region renowned for its gastronomic specialties.
The company located on the hills of Val Tidone exploits an ideal environment for the seasoning of cured meats.
The typical cured meats of the Piacenza area, coppa, pancetta and salami, have always been at the center of the production of San Carlo and the company wanted to focus on these types of products, concentrating on them the business development plans of recent years.
Salumificio San Carlo has thus become a leader in the production of Coppa, Pancetta and Salame Piacentino DOP. San Carlo is associated with the Piacentini Salami Consortium in 1993, contributing to the enhancement of Piacenza PDOs.
In 2006 the first clean room for slicing was created in the company, thus starting the production of pre-sliced cold cuts in trays, a complete range among which the PDO Piacenza cured meats stand out. In the following years, other slicing lines were created to satisfy the ever growing demand for these products, with a high service content for the consumer.
Salumificio San Carlo therefore continues in its path to combine tradition in production with the innovation of the most advanced technology in the food sector, to ensure the quality of the products.
Production
Salumificio San Carlo specializes in the production of Coppa Piacentina DOP, Pancetta Piacentina DOP and Salame Piacentino DOP, of which it is the market leader, as well as various types of pancetta (stretched, smoked, lean, coppate, etc.), coppa, of salami and other types of traditional cured meats (fiocchetto, guanciale, loin, etc.).
All products are offered in various formats and types of packaging: whole, vacuum-packed or sliced.
The excellence of San Carlo production are represented by PDO products with prolonged maturation, refined in our cellars, according to tradition.
Alongside the taste of typical products, San Carlo combines a strong commitment to quality and food safety issues, as evidenced by the various certifications held: ISO 9001, ISO 22000, BRC, IFS, as well as EMAS (environmental) and OHSAS 18001 (safety at work).
